I wanted this to look somewhat like a scene out of my story ^^; ~ "Iris" (yeah, I think I'm going to stick to that now...) is a bit of a bookworm and likes to study all sorts of sciences and history :D so here she is snooping around the library...I wonder what she's researching?

Trying another slightly different style that's closer to my older work, more colourful and saturated don't you think? :S

I really like this work! Everything is coloured very neatly and colourfully.
I love the background wall colour XD And also the book case! *_* It must have took you a long time to colour each book! XDD
The skin colour is coloured very amazing. Especially on her fingers! I love her hair :3 Its really nicely blend and colour.
What kind of watercolour and ink do you use, may I ask?

Thanks so much! :D It did take me a long time but it didn't feel long because I really enjoyed working in this way ^_^

I use quite cheap watercolours (Reeves) but I have used Windsor and Newton watercolours before and they are definetly worth their cost haha! The ink I use is Daler Rowney Acrylic ink but I only use it for line art. Hope this helps!

Oh, I have Reeves too! So you mix your skin colour? I dunno how to =_= I only add the light brown and a lot of water XDD Whats the right way to mix to skin colour? I'm always having trouble with that xD

I only have a gold ink's Windsor and Newton -_- I can't find the other colours! =A=;
Thanks for answering! XD :boogie:

Hehe, no probs ~
I generally mix a yellow ochre with a bit of crimson and occassionally a tiny touch of ultramarine blue to desaturate the colour slightly. Mix a little bit of crimson into the yellow ochre at a time to get the right colour otherwise the skin colour would be too red, too little crimson would look yellow but you can mix a variety of skin tones this way :D For darker skin I mix some burnt umber into it and add less yellow ochre. I hope that all made sense haha!

As for ink, as long as you use a waterproof pen to draw the lines then you don't need ink ^_^

Oh, thanks for the answer! I'm always afraid to mix a lot of different colours together, because 1- I'll waste the watercolour, and 2- It'll turn out wrong.

Wow, this is a lovely scene; I like all of the details that you've put in and the character's design.
